Peer Support

CILO’s peer support group is a person-centered approach that provides therapeutic, learning opportunities that engage the individual in body, soul and spirit.

CILO’s Independent Living Specialist uses various positive life-affirming methods that encourage, and teach individuals how to make healthy, positive choices that affect their daily lives.  This service offers young adults with disabilities the opportunity to meet and support each other in a safe environment.

Those involved report positive improvements in their mental and physical health, reduced isolation, increased confidence and improved social skills.  Individuals gain confidence and skills to access leisure, education and employment opportunities.  It is a healthy space where friendships form and all benefit from positive social interactions, acceptance, and confirmation.
