On July 14, 2010, CILO celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the the Americans with Disabilities Act with a "A Generation of Independence" luncheon.

The ADA was an important landmark in civil rights legislation for persons with disabilities. Those who remember life before the ADA recall discrimination based solely on one’s disability, in housing, employment, education, and access to the mainstream of American life. The ADA is a reflection of the American Dream that a society is most vibrant when all of its citizens have an equal opportunity to thrive without attitudinal or physical barriers blocking their path.

The event included lunch from Sandy James Fine Foods and guest speakers:
            Civil Rights Attorney, Matthew Deitz
Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Corporate Consultant, Eladio Amores
Proclamation of Rededication to the A.D.A. by US Representative Kevin Rader.
            Harp Entertainment by Anne Akerson.
