After School / Summer Program for Adolescents with Disabilities
Accessible Lifesaving Education for at-Risk Teens (ALERT) is an after-school and summer program for middle and high school students with disabilities. Students learn independent living skills, cooking, travel training, conflict resolution, HIV/STD and pregnancy prevention, job readiness, social, leisure and recreational skills. The program empowers teens by teaching self-advocacy skills and by providing an opportunity to make positive life choices.
ALERT empowers families by offering information, referrals, advocacy, support groups and family dinners prepared by the teens.
Our program hours follow the school calendar, M-F, 3 PM-6 PM and noon-6 PM on school half days. Summer program operates M-TH, 8 AM –5 PM. Fees for trips, snacks & supplies.
